The CRX-TREME design incorporates the most advanced technologies from a variety of industries to produce a mounted ball bearing unlike any other. The patented CRX-TREME bearing insert combines the hardenability and load capability of 440C stainless steel with the corrosion resistance of 300 Series stainless steel.

  • Bearing races are a 316/440C stainless steel, patented bi-metal insert
    • 316 stainless steel rings with 440C stainless steel ball paths
    • 316 and 440C materials joined with an aerospace brazing process
    • Hardened 440C ball path to maintain standard 440C bearing loads
    • Passivated races (an acid wash that removes ferrous material from stainless steel and helps improve the material's corrosion resistance)
  • Two housing materials available:
    • Housings made of 316 passivated stainless steel housing
      • The highest amount of corrosion resistance currently available for stainless steel housings
      • Investment cast process yields a smooth, easy to clean surface
      • Solid construction - machined base resulting in minimized gaps, no fillings and smooth easy to clean surfaces, solid base pillow block
    • Solid composite housing machined base for smooth, easy to clean surface
      • High strength composite material delivers high load capacity
      • Stainless steel ferrules for increased strength around bolt holes
      • Minimal gaps and no fillings allowing for fewer areas for bacteria to grow
  • High Performance Seal (HPS) - triple lip contact seal design provides multi-directional sealing to minimize contamination ingress and retain lubrication - standard on all units.
    • 304 stainless steel shell and flingers protect from incoming contaminants and provide wear resistant contact surface to all three seal lips
    • Grease cavities in seal assembly are factory-filled with lubricant prior to shipment for additional contaminant avoidance
  • Sealmaster GOLDPLEX® FG H1 food grade grease with calcium sulfonate thickener to ensure high film strength, extreme pressure and anti-wear properties.
  • Zone hardened inner race provides a fully hardened ball path while leaving the race extensions unhardened, allowing better set screw holding power.
  • Length through bore is longer than most competitors for greater shaft stability.
  • Land-riding brass retainer has high strength, minimizes friction and provides maximum grease circulation.
  • 120° balanced, 17-4 material stainless steel set screw position provides three-point balanced contact that minimizes vibration, reduces noise and improves reliability of the shaft assembly.
  • Precision manufactured, diamond faceted set screws improve clamping and resist backing out.
  • Solid base, pillow block, cast iron housing provides improved stability and resistance to shock and vibration.
  • Part number is permanently marked on housing, not an entrapment point for bacteria.
