The flexible
disc is the heart of the KOP-FLEX® high performance and KS
disc couplings. The disc transmits torque while
accommodating axial, offset and angular misalignment. The
discs are designed for infinite life.

The disc with unitized assembly, proprietary coating and
scalloped design is by far the most technologically superior
design available in the market today.
The flexible disc pack is a series of highly precision manufactured discs assembled with washers and bushings into a unitized pack. The disc material is 301 stainless steel and each disc is coated with a proprietary KOPLON to prevent fretting corrosion – unlike any manufacturer in the industry. Alternate disc material such as Inconel for high temperature or highly corrosive environment is available. The disc has a “waist” or “scallop” link design, for increased flexibility and lower reaction forces on connected equipment bearings. Under load, the disc is subjected to constant stresses due to torque, axial misalignment, pretension and centrifugal forces and alternating stresses due to angular misalignment and offset.
