Features & Benefits

  • Sealmaster® mounted paver bearings with set screw locking are available in a wide variety of features:
    • Various sizes depends on specific application
    • Special part number system “PVR” prefix
    • Designed for specific OEM paver manufacturers
  • Patented bearing seal technology with four barriers (end cap, shield, washer, seal)
    • Ductile iron end cap – a tough, wear-resistant end cap helps keep asphalt from forcing its way into the bearing
    • Rotating shield – a conical-shaped, ductile iron, black oxide shield resists asphalt erosion and helps protect the inner sealing elements from large aggregate damage
    • Self-adjusting washer – a conical shaped mechanical washer located behind the rotating shield supplies the bearing with third contamination barrier
    • High temperature seals – the fourth and final barrier consists of a Nomex* felt seal that works to filter out fine and super fine particles
  • Factory lubrication for each bearing is chosen to best fit the conditions of bearing operation. For example, auger bearings use a high-temperature synthetic grease to combat the asphalt high temperatures.
  • Wide outer ring design provides increased grease capacity to lubricate the bearings.
  • Anti-rotation - pin & dimple system prevents the bearing OD from creep/rotation due to vibration over time while providing a full ± 2° of static misalignment.
  • Direct lube - pin & dimple system provides a direct lubrication path into the bearing, eliminating the need to channel grease around a lubrication groove common on standard mounted ball bearing units.
  • Black oxide standard on inner/outer rings and seal components inhibits corrosion.
  • Zone hardened inner race provides a fully hardened ball path while leaving the race extensions unhardened, allowing better set screw holding power.
  • Length through bore is longer than most competitors for greater shaft stability.
  • Land-riding brass retainer has high strength, minimizes friction and provides maximum grease circulation.
  • 120° balanced set screw position provides three-point balanced contact that minimizes vibration, reduces noise and improves reliability of the shaft assembly.
  • Precision manufactured, diamond faceted set screws improve clamping and resist backing out.
  • Solid base, pillow block, cast iron housing provides improved stability and resistance to shock and vibration.
  • Permanent metal nameplate allows for easy identification after years of operation.
